Insect Pest Treatments
Insects have different life stages which cause a range of problems. Larvae can infest stored food while adults bite, sting and spread disease.
Our Solutions
We deal with flying and crawling insects and spiders, inside and outside buildings. Correctly identifying the pest is the first step to solving the problem as this indicates a likely source of infestation. Once located, the infestation can be treated using an appropriate technique.
General cleanliness is a big factor in controlling insect pests. Insects can then be attacked using baits, traps and sprays. They can be prevented from returning by remedial repairs and barrier treatments.
We use registered insecticides which have been tested and approved. We always use correct concentrations so full strength treatments are applied. Anything less is a waste of time.
For cockroaches and ants, baiting is effective and safe. Bait stations protect the bait while allowing the pests to feed. For fleas and flies, a residual insecticide spray application gives extended protection over many months. By using a combination insect growth regulator, both adults and larvae can be controlled and the pest's life cycle is broken in two places. For ants, an outside barrier treatment can prevent them gaining entry to the building.
Where insecticide treatments are not appropriate, control can be undertaken using traps where the pest is attracted either by scent or ultra violet light.
Our Experience
Examples of our pest insect experience include:
- Control of fleas in large public commercial buildings
- Eradication of cockroaches from shops, offices and homes
- Eradication of fleas from carpeted service counters
- Identification and control of mosquito breeding sites
- Prevention of wasp swarming on outdoor woodwork
- Control of flies on food court walls
- Eradication of spiders from external glazing frames
- Monitoring of mosquito invasions of natural water bodies
- Removal of crickets from an indoor landscaping feature
